Each year many SWEHSC researchers host high school students in their laboratories. Facility managers assits them process their samples and understand their data. SWEHSC members teach them about toxicology and environmental health. The program was designed by the SWEHSC Outreach Core and is conducted in collaboration with the BIO5 Instutue. UACC's TACMASR will now be providing histology services for Cellular Imaging

The CMM Histology Service Lab is merging into the UACC's TACMASR facility (announcement) effective the first week of September 2014.  

Routine paraffin and frozen section services will continue to be offered, with the availability of automated immunohistochemisty and in situ hybridization staining capabilities, as well as access to board certified Pathologists.

Onsite demonstration of Superresolution (SIM) microscope

Representatives of Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC will be demonstrating the Elyra S.1 Structured Illumination Microscope (SIM) during the first week. During the rest of the time the instrument is here Dr. Elliott and Mr. Cromey will be available to operate the instrument.

New: The Microscopy Alliance website

The Cellular Imaging Facility Core, in collaboration with the University of Arizona Cancer Center's Cancer Imaging Shared Service, Arizona Research Laboratories' AHSC Microscopy facility, and the Department of Cellular & Molecular Medicine has launched a new website. The Microscopy Alliance is a collaborative effort between the many campus microscopy core facilities to bring together in one place information about microscopes, the facilities that offer them, and the experts that manage the microscopes. At launch the website featured 24 microscopes in 10 facilities.
