In the course of an epidemiologic study, Ayotte Et. Al. investigated neurodevelopmental deficits induced by environmental PCB exposure in the Inuit population of northern Quebec (Nunavik, Canada), they compared three biomarkers of prenatal exposure and models to predict PCB plasma concentration at 6 months postpartum. Concentrations of PCB congeners were measured by high-resolution gas chromatography with electron capture detection in lipids extracted from maternal plasma, cord plasma, breast milk and 6-month infant plasma samples. When assessed on lipid basic, maternal plasma, cord plasma, and milk concentrations of this congener were strongly intercorrelated. The article provides data collected from the patient’s en vivo and the machines. Ayotte Et. Al. also breaks down the data into regions and populations in different cities and regions of northern Canada. Different feeding types, age ranges, means, standard deviations and ranges are published. This is a seminal article in children’s health. Data and models used here were used in future articles and as a catalyst for further research. Highly recommended.
