Description:
Environmental health has an identity problem when it comes to literacy. This descriptive article covers how two literacy movements—health literacy and environmental literacy—work parallel to each other but have not necessarily met. Health literacy websites provide valuable consumer information, but most do not present how the environment impacts health. Environmental education is not strong in the U.S., compounding the difficulty with connecting the dots to health literacy. (Martin, J. 2013)
