The Art of RNA Therapy

Host: Xinxin Ding

After a brief introduction to the role of noncoding RNAs in posttranscriptional gene regulation and RNAs as a new class of molecules for therapy as well as their unique mechanisms of actions, as compared with small-molecule and protein therapeutics, Dr. Aiming Yu will discuss why and how we develop the tRNA/pre-miRNA-based recombinant RNA technology that offers a consistent, high-yield, and large-scale in vivo fermentation production of true biologic RNA (BioRNA) molecules with RNAi payloads, such as miRNAs, siRNAs, and aptamers. Examples will be provided to illustrate the utilities of one-of-a-kind BioRNAs for the investigation of xenobiotic and endobiotic metabolism and disposition, as well as the development of new anticancer therapies.
