Opportunities for partnerships with fire departments and tribes around ground exposure assessment and effects

Cancer Prevention and Control (CPC) Seminar

EPI 696B

UA Cancer Center -- Kiewit Auditorium

The presentation will describe ongoing research programs working with fire departments and American Indian communities. These include a FEMA-funded research project evaluating carcinogen exposures in Tucson firefighters and biomarkers/bioassays of effect, and an NIH (and pending EPA) supported P50 Disparities Center focused on evaluation of environmental exposures working with American Indian community partners. Both of these grants provide additional partnership opportunities to address cancer risks and outcomes.
