A Student's Journey is a year long program with a 5 week on campus experience at the University of Arizona
for participanting Tohono O'odham Community College (TOCC) students.

Overview
 
A Student's Journey will address the academic transfer barrier for TOCC students enrolling at 4-year universities. Our staff members and collaborating faculty are determined to change the landscape of higher education and workforce on the Tohono O'odham Nation by offering an on campus experience at the University of Arizona that directly serves the needs for TOCC students. 
  • Upon arrival, students will be oriented by our friendly and engaging staff before their internship placement. 
  • During their stay on campus, students will learn about critical environmental health and environmental justice issues while collabroating with UA professionals by assisting their projects and developing skills as a professional intern.
  • At the conclusion of the program, each student will give a final presentation regarding their internship and bring this memorable experience back to the Tohono O'odham Nation.

Eligibility Requirements:
 
  • Must be a TOCC Student 
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • 5 week commitment (No vacations throughout duration of program)
