Fun in the Sun: A Look Back at SWEHSC CEC’s Summer Programs

We had another great summer as the Southwest Environmental Health Sciences Center’s Community Engagement Core (CEC) hosted a series of impactful summer programs from May to August. Over these months, each program—ranging in duration and start/end dates—provided students from middle school through community college with valuable experiences in environmental health, research, and professional development. Whether lasting from one week to four weeks, these programs offered various resources and engaging activities both on and off the University of Arizona campus.

National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences logo

The mission of the Southwest Environmental Health Sciences Center (SWEHSC) is to facilitate and implement innovative research aimed at understanding the mechanisms underlying environmental health science risks and disease among people living in arid environments. The SWEHSC (P30 ES006694) is funded by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.
