Facility Cores

The major purpose of Facility Cores in the Environmental Health Sciences Core Center Grants (P30) supported by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) are to: "...furnish groups of EHS CC investigators with technologies, services, or instrumentation that will enhance the research in progress, consolidate manpower effort, and contribute to cost effectiveness."

Cellular Imaging Facility Core

Provides center members with both routine and advanced capabilities in the visualization, quantitation and interpretation of structural and in situ molecular alterations to tissues and cells following exposure to toxicants. Leveraging existing campus core facilities, the Cellular Imaging Facility Core provides concierge-like assistance to ensure that center members receive the best research outcomes possible.

Translational Research Support Core

Omics Facility Core

The Omics Facility Core provides genome-wide analysis of DNA, RNA, and proteins. Whether its expression, mutations, biomarkers, post-translational modifications, molecular weight determinations, or structural analysis, the Omics Facility Core can provide analysis on multiple platforms including next-generation sequencing, real time PCR, microarrays, MALDI-TOF spectrometry, LC-MS, HPLC, chromatography, and electrophoresis. In addition, the Omics Facility Core provides assistance to investigators in experimental design (often in collaboration with the Data Science Resource), sample preparation, and data analysis, interpretation, publication figures, methods, and letters of support.
