Dr. Paloma Beamer

A professor in the College of Public Health and hold joint appointments as a professor of chemical and environmental engineering and as a research scientist in the Asthma and Airway Disease Research Center. Dr. Beamer serves as the community engagement core director for the Southwest Environmental Health Sciences Center. Her lab studies how individuals are exposed to environmental contaminants and the health risk of these exposures with an emphasis on vulnerable populations. Dr. Jeff Burgess 

Professor for both the Mel and Enid Zuckerman college of public health and The Bio5 institute, Dr. Burgess also previously worked as a medical toxicologist and occupational and environmental medicine physician. Dr. Burgess’s current research focuses on reducing toxic exposures and preventing injuries and illness among firefighters and other first responders. Learn more about Dr. Burgess’s Research here.

Dr. Nathan Cherrington 

The associate dean of research of pharmacology and toxicology and director of The Southwest Environmental Health Sciences Center. Dr. Cherrington also holds joint appointments in clinical translational service and the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health. Dr. Cherrington’s lab studies adverse drug reactions, drug metabolism, gene expression, and phenoconversion. Learn more about Dr. Cherrington’s Research here.

Dr. Zeliann Craig

The assistant dean of research and an associate professor at the BIO5 institute at the University of Arizona. Dr. Craig’s lab studies female reproductive physiology, ovarian follicle biology, ovarian toxicology, environmental chemicals, and reproduction. Learn more about Dr.Craig's research here.

Dr. Xinxin Ding 

Department head of pharmacology and toxicology and a member of the Southwest Environmental Health Sciences Center. Dr. Ding’s Lab studies enzyme function, regulation of genetics as applied to translations research for drug safety and efficacy genetic and environmental risk for chemical toxicology. Learn more about Dr. Ding's Research here.

Dr. Melissa Furlong

An Environmental epidemiologist at the University of Arizona’s College of Public Health. Her lab focuses on the chronic health effects of environmental contaminants with an emphasis on pesticides and neurological outcomes. Learn more about her Research here.

Dr. James Galligan

Is an assistant professor in the department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. Dr. Galligan is a recipient of several society for free radical biology and medicine young investigator award. His Lab currently studies the histone modifications derived from cell metabolism in diabetes and cancer. Learn more about Dr. Galligan’s Research here.

Dr. Clark Lantz

Dr. Julie Ledford

A tenured associate professor out of the department of Cellular and molecular medicine and is an active member of the Asthma and airway disease research cent at the bio5 institute. Dr. Jennifer Teske

Associate professor of The School if Nutritional sciences and wellness, whose lab studies neural mechanisms and dietary factors that regulate weight gain associated with abnormal sleep in rodent models. Dr. Teske’s current projects include a focus on brain mechanisms in sleep and obesity, dietary factors mitigating reduced sleep associate obesity, and feasibility studies of rat body composition in the Bruker biospec 7T MRIs. Dr. Donna Zhang

Associate Director of the superfund research program and a professor of pharmacology and toxicology. Dr. Zhang's lab studies how the NRF2 Signaling network is regulated in response to diverse environmental cues and how prolonged NRF2 responses during chronic arsenic exposure leads to lung cancer and type 2 diabetes.
