Health Risks & Advocacy Training by Physicians for Social Responsibility

When

All Day, Nov. 3, 2025
This program will equip health professionals and community advocates with expertise on the medical, environmental, and social consequences of nuclear weapons production, testing, and military use, plus health risks related to nuclear energy. Participants will also develop advocacy and communications skills to bring the health perspective into policy debates, media conversations, and community action. The training begins November 3 and includes 11 weeks of online lectures and discussions, led by technical experts, frontline community voices, and advocacy professionals.

This program will prepare advocates to fill this role as local community advocates and policy experts, with particular preparation for Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS) hearings, scheduled in the spring of 2026 across the U.S. nuclear weapons complex. Participants will leave the program ready to contribute informed, credible, and powerful health voices in these critical debates.

Registration is open until October 31, so please sign up and help spread the word to people, organizations, and other lists. We also welcome donations to help support scholarships for participants.
