Jing Liu

Dr. Liu has broad interests in vascular biology, metabolism, and renal physiology. Her prior research experience was dedicated to understanding the roles of lipoproteins in atherosclerosis and aneurysm, microRNA-mediated regulation of vascular remodeling and metabolism, and molecular and cellular mechanisms of renal physiology and blood pressure control. Building on this expertise, her current efforts are devoted to investigating the causal effects of “forever chemicals” per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in 1) dyslipidemia and macrovascular diseases including atherosclerosis and aneurysm; 2) hypertension and microvascular dysfunction; and 3) renal dysfunction and chronic kidney disease.
